Happy Easter!

Hoppy Easter everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying this day of celebration and is pleasantly plump with delicious food. So this week as most of you know, I am on my spring break before I begin my new job on Monday. This has given me the much needed free time to accomplish all of the things I have not had time to do with my old job. My new job is with a company called Exotic Metals Forming Company. They do sheet metal, aircraft support structure and exhaust manifold work on a large scale for aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Pratt & Whitney, Gulfstream. I will be a Mechanical Design Engineer there. As of this point I do not know exactly what I am going to be doing, but I will be sure to let you know. Here is some examples of some of their products:

I was blessed with eternal sunshine for the entirety of my vacation. By the end of the week it even got into the mid 60's! Woo Woo! It was a wonderful thing and is getting me excited for summer at our new house in the Pacific Northwest. So how did I take advantage of my time off you may ask? Well I did what any guy would do, worked on my car and drank beer ;) Now that I actually have a garage and a driveway, I was able to give my car the full Spa treatment it's been in need of. This included removing the roof rack, changing back to summer tires, washing the entire interior, exterior and engine bay. I then took a clay bar to the entire car to remove and tree sap, dirt particles and left over residue that washing doesn't pick up. Then of course was a full coat of wax to give it that smooth shine. Not wanting Chrissy's car to feel neglected, I gave her (?) the same treatment. These babies looked beautiful after I was done with them. I figured this was a great chance for a photo shoot:

Since Chrissy bought her car, her windshield wiper sprayer hasn't worked. I figured this would be a great time to take a look and see what's wrong. Unfortunately the reservoir and pump are located next to the front wheel so I had to remove the wheel and inside paneling to get to it. After verifying that the pump was in fact working, I examined closer and found the hole to be clogged with nasty mud. I then found the wiper fluid to be just as disgusting. After a thorough rinse, cleanse and unclogging, the wiper sprayers were back up and running. Combining that with the RainX wax on the winshield, Chrissy should have perfect 20/20 vision while driving in all conditions.

I then decided to assemble our new patio furniture. We get this set at Target for one heck of a good deal. After some custom fabrication and remolding of the legs (ie banging with a hammer), the table was looking good. Now all we need is a holder for our sun umbrella.

You many have noticed the well manicured lawn. No, we don't have professional lawn care service, that was me :) I took cue from my Brother's vast landscaping and mowing expertise and went with the tedious but rewarding angle cuts. I still have a lot to learn but at least I come from a family of Greenthumbs. We are in the process of de-weeding everything and getting it ready lay mulch. Here Chrissy cleaned our her vegetable garden, getting it ready for seeding and fresh soil. As you can see we already have some Kale growing.

Here is our shed and the walkway by our house. You will notice the pile on the bottom right. This will soon be Chrissy's compost pile.

At first I wasn't sure if these were weeds or not. Luckily our nice neighbor Gretchen informed me what was and wasn't weeds. Like I said, I have a lot to learn but am excited for this landscaping project.

After 4 full 5-Gallon buckets of weeds, the front yard was finally cleaned up. Here's some pictures:

We also have neighbor kids running throughout our yard all day. It's quite entertaining.

I will keep you all posted on the status of our lawn as we get more done with it. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
