Three months

My little gal turned three months old last Thursday! Gah, I love her more each day. She is so sweet and good natured. She gets baptized this weekend and she has all her cousins here to love and care for her. She is such a lucky baby to have so many people in her short life who love her so much.

Developments

Anora finally seems back to her old self after her two month shots! She's back to talking and babbling while staring at herself in the mirror.  She smiles and she often likes to try and chew on things like her blankie as she holds it. She can hold a rattle and Sofie the giraffe and lift it up to her mouth.
Just today she pulled her binkie out of her mouth, then put it back in. She's incredible, this babe.

First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was one of my favorite days so far! I have longed to be a mother, for forever really, and finally getting to celebrate the fact that I am indeed now a mom, just makes me want to cry happy tears.

Anora's gift to me was sleeping through the night & it was the best gift I could have received. We woke up energized and played together in the bath. Ben made me a French toast breakfast that was delightful while Anora looked on from her bumbo. Then our little family of three strolled down to Starbucks for a morning tea and enjoyed the sunshine. After church we made phone calls to our moms and told them how important they are to us. That afternoon we went to the arboretum for a nice stroll. It was beautiful and I feed Anora under a big tree. Anora loved it. When we got home, Ben pulled out some champagne and made us dinner and gave me our first framed family photo. Gorgeous! It was a perfect day. On top of it all I got a couple surprise gifts and several cards from my generous and thoughtful friends! I am so blessed with the people in my life! I often feel so undeserving.

I am so proud to be Anora's mom and just beam when I look at her. I had no idea my heart could hold so much love. Yet, already there are challenging moments and no doubt challenging years ahead, and still it all feels special. It gives me a new appreciation for my mom (and all moms really)! It's a big job, a heavy job, but such a gift. In Anora's face I see innocence and beauty. I see me and Ben's union blessed by the heavens!

Bumbo

We are having so much fun watching Anora sit up in the bumbo these days. She looks like a little adult! Her neck is getting stronger, but she does lean to one side. I like that she gets a new view point and can hang out with the big kids :)

In other news, she has been lifting weights!

And she still loves bath time!

Ouch!

Anora got her 2 month vaccines today. Hardest day of being a mommy. She cried so hard when they pricked her poor baby legs three times. They also had to give her an oral medication which she sputtered and choked through. I nursed her after and she was fine. Since then she has been very sleepy and when she does wake up cranky. This afternoon I was holding her as she slept and she randomly threw up - a lot - an hour and a half after she had last eaten. Good thing I was with my new mommy friends who sympathized and told me puking was normal.

Alas, we still enjoyed our record setting Seattle day! It was 86 degrees, sunny, and beautiful! Mt Rainier was out in full force! We picnicked in the shade, lounged, and went on on nice walk (with 5 other mommies and babies)! We were quite the spectacle! Anora has more friends here then I do ;)
